The upholstery fabric was fairly soft and not too stiff or scratchy. It was just thicker than normal cotton. So I didn't have to line anything. But lining isn't too horrible. It just adds that extra step, you're right :).

I must tell you how much I adore this dress! Was the inside of the dress scratchy using upholstery material? I found some at ikea recently that was so cool but couldn't figure out if it would be too rough (and too lazy to line it ;)
