I love these skirts. I have a question though. The red is my favorite and I want to do the "decorative" stitching on the pocket, but I am a complete novice and have no idea where to begin. Do you use the strips you cut for the yellow skirt or is it just red running stitches to hold all the gathering together? Do you do the running stitch with embroidery thread or just on the machine

Beautiful! We just returned from IKEA, and I'll be trying this with the Barnslig fabric and, for the contrast bands, a pillow cover from (of course) their As Is section. My daughter will love it. Thank you for such a thorough tutorial!
