PEEPS Bunny Bunting

Ready for Easter?
If you've got an Easter morning Brunch up your sleeve.....
Don't forget the PEEPS!
Nothing says Easter like a bunch of colorful bunnies.
And since buntings are festive any time of the year, I took a spin on the traditional flag look and mimicked a childhood favorite in our family.....Marshmallow Peeps.
Pick your favorite Peeps color (or make up your own!) and find a similar FELT color at your local craft store. Then, keep it super simple with Bunny Door Hangers:
or really give-in to your sweet tooth.....
And let's get bunting!
Want the complete tutorial? You'll find it HERE:
(and in the TUTORIALS tab at the top of the blog)

So go take a.....Peep!

So cute! My mom loves (stale) peeps. Don't ask me why? I'll have to sew some up for us and her.
If I didn't have to waste stabilizer, an embroidery of the outline would be fabulous too.

dana can you tell me what wall color you have on your walls in this picture?

Thanks!

I'm getting a sugar high just looking at those. I just found out about this diorama contest the Washington Post does each year with Peeps - The Peeps Show. The entries are so cool, if you like Peeps you will love it. I have nothing to do with it I just thought it was cool.

Dana, you never fail to surprise me. I saw these on the Ucreate blog and knew that you had done them. They are your style. =) Almost good enough to eat!!

Regan Rothery said...

Dana, you MUST make Smeeps. S'mores with Peeps.
Graham cracker + chocolate square + Peep + 350 degree toaster oven for 1 minute or so = Smeep-tastic!

Sugar rush for sure, but pretty fantastic.

Gloria - Life in Arabia said...

If only someone would export some Peeps over here to the Middle East. :)
I would freeze them and eat them all year long.

I love those Peeps! And since the real things gross my hubby out, I'll have to make these instead. Thanks!

Yes, peeps are great, but have you ever roasted them!? Even better...the outside gets carmelized and the inside is nice and gooey. Just be patient and let it cool.(we roast ours over the gas burner on our stove, nothing fancy)
Love the cute banner, too.

you are AMAZING. Simply amazing. I LOVE it!!!

I saw this tutorial on V & CO. yesterday and RAN out to buy some pink felt. We're having an Easter Egg Hunt at our house on Sunday and I know the guests will love these. Thanks so much for all of your awesome ideas!

I love these little peeps! You've always got the best ideas and the best photos to show off your talent! Thanks for sharing all your hard work and your secrets with us!

Can't wait to try this!!

I have a question: It looks like you stitched around each bunny in the photo but I didn't see this step in the tutorial. do you recommend stitching around each bunny or are they fine just being stitched onto the ribbon?

Oh so cute!! You have a great creative mind! I just love your blog, can't wait to see what you post next! And I agree with everyone else, you take the most beautiful pictures. Happy Easter!

Hi Peeps! (sorry, had to).
I'm so happy you like the bunny bunting. And what great ideas to roast the peeps or make smores out of them. You guys know I have a sugar weakness....

The tutorial will be here in the tutorials section very soon.

Amy,
Yes I sewed all the way around each bunny. Sorry, I showed it briefly in the last step of the tutorial but it doesn't show very well. Basically, I sewed the back bunny on, by sewing across the ears. Then I sewed the front bunny on top, by sewing all the way around each bunny. Hope that makes sense!

Love then!
i must make these if I find some spare time!!

56! I am 56. Whoa and wow. Easter is creeping up on me. These are adorable cutie. I am not a Peeps fan for eatin'. I also hate marshmallows and jello. Can you believe I live in Utah? I almost got kicked out.

I always love your posts. I wish I could go to L.A. with you and spend a crapload of money on fabric I swear I would use! Love what you do, it's awesome!

Kylie said...

Oh my these are so cute - will have to grab some felt and make them up:) Thanks again for a great tutorial:)

i actually go crafty myself this year and made a happy easter banner but this is so cute! i may have to try doing a "no sew" version of this. i love me some peeps!

Deborah said...

In LOVE with these!!

Jenn said...

Not only are these super cute but super easy. My only mistake was thinking it was a 1 day project (well it was but I tend to complicate things more than they should) & starting it when I should have got some other things done first. Thanks for sharing. Your ideas are always so much fun!

Sarah said...

Have you tried Peep Smores? OH my goodness, they are heavenly!!

These are so cute! I'm afraid I got lazy and cheated--I used my cricut to cut out your bunnies on cardstock and a crayola marker to dot in eyes (mine are also a bit smaller). Thank you for the great idea and pdf!

I am definitely making one of these before Sunday!! I featured this idea on my blog here:
