Celebrate the BOY!

It's rough being a BOY in a sea full of girly blog tutorials and sewing ideas. Scrapes and bruises are easily masked by flowery clips and ruffled skirts.
Some times you choose to just play along and do whatever Big Sister is doing.
But in reality....you want to yank off the tiara,
and embrace your man-hood.
We couldn't agree more.

And thus.....
Time for my big announcement...
Something I've been SO excited to share with you all.....

For THE ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, Made is teaming up with Made by Rae (the two Made-Maids) and together we're going to:

To "moms of boys" out there, we've heard your woes! There just isn't enough info shared amongst us about BOYS. There aren't enough clothing ideas, enough tutorials, enough fresh ideas. Well ladies (and little gents), we're going to stock your Tonka Trucks full of info!

Throughout the month you'll find:
* TONS of Boy tutorials
* Boy clothing ideas
* TWELVE guest bloggers! (this part REALLY excites me)
* Boy crafts
* Boy bags
* Baby Boy stuff
* Boy giveaways
* Boy design tips

Boy, that's a lot! And remember....it's happening on TWO blogs!
Not a lick of girly glitter here for the whole month. It's gonna be hard. But I think we can do it.

Starting this Monday, there will be a new blog design on both MADE and Made by Rae in honor of Celebrate the Boy. They will look similar but each will have our own signature car (Yellow for Rae and Red for Dana). And there will always be a button at the top of my blog so you can easily click over to Made by Rae and:
And of course we want to get this party started properly.....so we have BOY buttons! Grab them. Put them on your blog! Help us Celebrate the BOY.
On Monday, you'll find these buttons in my sidebar with HTML button code.

And there you have it folks! It's time. Time for the Boys to be BOYS.
See you on Monday!

Cutzi said...

Boy oh boy! I am really looking forward to this. I do have two girls but am not really into really girly, girly stuff. My son is such a little buddy - this will be great.

On a side note - I received my adorable heart barettes in the mail today. Since I paid with my husband's paypal account I stood there for a moment - utterly bewildered at who would send my husband a tiny envelope with hearts colored onto it. I cracked up at myself when I realized they were from you. Thank you! They're adorable. I put one right on my 8 mo. old, took her to run errands and she got so many compliments!

The Paxton Family said...

HA I have been bemoaning this same fact since I had my little boy at the beginning of January! I have been on a craft search for little boys! http://paxtoncrafts.blogspot.com/2010/01/little-boys.html

The fact is that most boy things you can make, can also be made into GIRL things (hats, pants, shoes etc) there are very few BOY things that are JUST for boys, like girl things (ie tutus, head bands etc)
I am SOOOOO excited to see what you guys can come up with!

Bugalugs said...

Boy, oh boy, oh boy!
Thanks-you so much for taking the steps to open our eyes to the great things we can make for boys. I'm looking forward to February with great anticipation now.
Can't wait to start making for the little men in my life!
Thank-you!!!

Wow, do you truly need another reader to tell you how excited she is about this. Maybe yes. I have lived in Europe most of my life, and thank goodness while my little boy was still young, I got to enjoy the vibrant well made clothing that they had over there. Now I am just bored to death of the khakis, jeans, and other things the stores sell. I am so looking forward to seeing what you bring, who you bring and other surprises. I posted your button on my blog. Hope you get a ton of business there. I run the Flickr group Sewing for Boys, and I know everyone was excited to see that group start, so I can just imagine the following you are going to get. Thank you.
