when Dad gets crafty

The other morning I woke up with Lucy in my face saying, mom! We need a star for our tree!
Since we hadn't bought a tree at that point, I had no idea what she was talking about. Surely my little girl with the big imagination was creating something in her make-believe world.
Come on mom! Let's go get a star!
I got out of bed, walked in the front room, and what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But a minature tree, made by my dear.
Before leaving for work, my sweet husband somehow found the green construction paper in our closet, shaped it into a cone, hole-punched some "ornaments", and made Lucy a tree for her Princesses. To be honest, it wouldn't have mattered what it looked like. The fact that he took on a craft project all on his own was the sweetest treat to wake up to.

Lucy and I cut out a small yellow star and stuck it on top. How does it look, I asked her?Perfect.

I agree.

How lovely!

We made stained glass windows yesterday, with tracing paper and felt tips. They look lovely!

I'll put pictures up later.

So, this comment is random, but here is a link to a wedding dress that is similar to your turkey skirt. It is BEAUTIFUL!! I really think you'll like it! I'm friends with the photgrapher and the bride... But the dress was featured on Glamour Magazine's wedding blog.

I wish I could get my husband to do something like that but hey, I'll just settle for being happy that he even wakes up with the little one on occasion haha. Adorable tree! Very pretty & perfect for princesses.
